Importing your menu, ready-made menus and menu history
Links to your dashboard ask you to log in first.
On Menu, Import or update from a spreadsheet reads a menu you already have. Nothing changes on your page until you've checked it and pressed Save to my menu.
- Paste it: copy your menu from your website, a PDF or a document. Put each section name on its own line (with an empty line before it) and each dish with its price on one line, like Margherita £8.50. A line under a dish is its description. Sizes: Margherita 10" £8.00 12" £10.00. Choices go on a line starting with +: + Extras (optional, up to 5): Mushrooms (+£1), Olives (+£1).
- A spreadsheet: save it as CSV first (Excel: File, Save a copy, CSV; Google Sheets: File, Download, CSV). Columns: Category, Name, Description, Price, Options, Allergens, Labels. Only Name and Price are needed. You can also copy rows straight from Excel or Google Sheets and paste them.
- A photo or PDF of your printed menu: send it to us with Help → Ask for help and we'll read it in for you. Every dish read from a photo is marked so you check its name, price, choices and allergens before it's saved.
- A ready-made menu: pick the one closest to what you sell, remove what you don't make and type your own prices. It has no prices or allergen information: those must come from you.
On the check screen, dishes without a price must get one (or be removed) before you can save: nothing is ever filled in for you. What saving will do lists new, changed and removed dishes. Add to my menu keeps everything else; Replace my menu makes your menu exactly the list (you're asked to confirm what's removed). Dishes that carry on keep their photo and sold-out tick.
Menu history keeps your menu as it was before every import, every section you deleted and every time a menu was put back (the last 60). Put this menu back undoes a change; your menu as it is now is saved first. Download as a spreadsheet gives you your menu to change prices in bulk and import back.
