Privacy notice
This notice explains how Food Order Hub ("we", "us") uses personal information on this website and in our ordering software. To contact us about your information, use our contact form.
Information you give us
- Enquiries and sign-ups: your name, business name, email, phone number, postcode, what you tell us in your message, and any file you attach.
- Takeaway accounts: login email, business details and settings. Passwords are stored in a scrambled (hashed) form that we cannot read.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To reply to you and set up your account (steps before a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries).
- To run the service for takeaways (our contract with the takeaway).
- To keep the service secure, for example limiting repeated attempts from one internet address (legitimate interests).
- To keep business records we are required to keep by law (legal obligation).
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Customers who order from a takeaway
When you order from a takeaway's ordering page, that takeaway is responsible for your information (the "controller"), and we process it on its behalf to run the ordering page. Each takeaway's page has its own privacy notice, linked from its menu. Card payments are handled by Stripe, and card details never reach our servers.
Who we share it with
- Our hosting provider, which runs our servers in the UK.
- Stripe, for takeaways that take card payments online.
- Professional advisers or authorities, if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries: up to 24 months after we last hear from you. Attached files are deleted after 12 months, or sooner when the enquiry is deleted.
- Takeaway account records: while the account is open, and up to six years after for our accounts.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it or delete it, to object to how we use it, or to restrict it. To ask, use our contact form. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
