What you need to get started

You don't need special equipment. Most takeaways already have everything.

• A tablet or laptop with an up-to-date web browser, kept in the shop for the Live orders screen. An Android tablet or an iPad both work. Use a device that only does this job, plugged in, with auto-lock turned off.
• An internet connection in the shop.
• A kitchen printer (optional): a Star printer that supports CloudPRNT, such as the Star mC-Print3 or TSP143IV, plugged into your router.
• A Stripe account (optional): only if you want customers to pay by card online. You can sign up while setting up.
• Your own web address (optional): if you'd like customers to order at something like order.yourtakeaway.co.uk.

You buy and own any equipment yourself. We don't sell or rent hardware.
