Food Order Hub

Put the order app on an Android tablet (5 steps)

Your tablet becomes the order screen: it rings for every new order, and you accept it with one tap. Any Android tablet with Chrome works. Do this once, in the shop, with the tablet plugged in.

  1. Open Chrome and sign in. Go to Food Order Hub's log in page and sign in with your email and password. Tick Keep me signed in on this device so the tablet stays signed in. (Tip: ask us for an "Order screen only" login for the shop tablet, so staff can't change your menu or settings.)
  2. Open Live orders. Tap Live orders in the menu. You'll see your order screen.
  3. Install the app. Tap Controls → Install the app. (Or open Chrome's ⋮ menu and tap Install app or Add to Home screen.) An Orders icon appears on the home screen. From now on, open it from there: it opens full screen like an app.
  4. Turn on alerts and sound. Open the app, tap Start taking orders (browsers only play sound after a tap), then tap Alerts in the top bar, name the tablet, for example "Counter tablet", and allow notifications. Turn the volume up.
  5. Keep it awake. In Android's Settings → Display, set the screen timeout to the longest, keep the tablet on charge, and leave the app open on screen. Then place a test order (see Test an order from start to finish) and check it rings.

iPad instead? Open Safari, sign in, tap Share → Add to Home Screen, and open Orders from the Home Screen. Alerts need iPadOS 16.4 or later. Everyday Bluetooth printers don't work from an iPad: use a cloud printer.
